Strive Development launched in May 2013 and offers learning and development and social value solutions to the construction and built environment sector. Our business is growing and we need additional hands on deck to deliver to our clients.
We are a friendly team of two, and are now looking to recruit a third person to join us. We enjoy making a difference in the communities we work within and seeing people progress and grow in their career following our development programmes.
We currently work with some main and sub-contractors, some of which we have been working with for over 6 years.
You will have at least 5 years experience of working within at least one of the following areas:
- Social value
- Learning and development
- Construction and the built environment sector
You must be comfortable at dealing with people at various levels within an organisation from Director to Labourer and unemployed people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, collaborative and have great communication skills (written and verbal).
You should be flexible in your approach.
You should be able to manage multiple priorities to agreed deadlines and report on progress.
You will be highly IT literate and familiar with the Microsoft Suite. You should also be happy using remote working software (MS Teams, Zoom) and products such as Trello.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with a 70:30 split between social value and learning and development but are flexible for the right candidate.
Social Value Consultant
As a Social Value Consultant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a network of external stakeholders and community partners, to include training providers, residents and public sector contacts, whilst ensuring social value commitments are delivered, as outlined, meeting required deadlines and quality.
You will also be responsible for developing case studies, promoting the wide range of careers in construction and co-ordinating and managing work experience placements.
We would also encourage you to share with the team your innovative social value suggestions so that they can add value to the business.
With previous experience within CSR/Community regeneration activity, you’ll have worked giving employability support.
With working knowledge of apprenticeships and safeguarding, you’ll be innovative in your delivery with the ability to personalise your approach to target specific issues in the communities where they work.
Learning and Development Consultant
You would be responsible for identifying training needs within a client’s organisation and developing training programmes accordingly that could be delivered face to face or virtually.
It would also be great if you have experience of developing e-learning.

- Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes
- Work Experience Programmes
- Personal Development
- Managing Others
